DIU Pedicare team surveys child nutrition

Campus Report :Pedicare is a project initiated by four students of Daffodil International University (DIU) with a dream to ensure the right of proper nutrition of children aging from six months to three years. As a part of field survey, the team visited a remote village in Brahmanbaria named Suhilpur on the 2nd of this month. Visiting Hariya Public Primary School, surveying the nutritional standard of underprivileged children, providing knowledge on proper nutrition among the school children, general knowledge competition and uthan baithak (yard counseling) with rural mothers are a few of their day long activities. The field visit was arranged in order to raising awareness about the importance of proper nutrition and health among children and parents of an outlying village. Moreover, this visit will help in proper understanding of the nutrition standard of underprivileged children which will assist in deciding future activities and decision making regarding the project- Pedicare, says Faisal Bin Abul Kashem, member of the Pedicare team.The field visit was led by Masud Ibn Rahman, Associate Professor, DIU and the four team members of Pedicare are- Kazi Misu , Faisal Bin Abul Kasem, Bhaskar Sarkar and Samsun Nahar Leepi. K.M. Borhan Uddin, Head Master of Hariya Public Primary School, provided heartiest support for the activities of the team.Pedicare is a highly nutritious and low priced supplementary food for children aging from six months to three years. It has been selected in the Social Business Creation competition 2016 and now needs moral support and crowd funding for exceeding to the final round that is to be held in September at HEC Montreal, Canada.
