A learning session on “Road Safety and Social Engagement of Students” was recently held at DIU Auditorium for the newly admitted students of Summer Semester 2014.
Renowned actor and chairman of ‘Nirapad Sharak Chai’ Ilias Kanchan facilitated the session. He advised the participants to use foot over bridges, especially to be more careful while crossing the roads. He stressed on to follow and maintains traffic rules while passing through the streets for safety.
Kanchan also advised the students to love their life, not only for themselves, but also for their family, society and for the country. He urged to create massive campaign and increase public awareness about safe road; and he expressed his great confidence and beliefs that our
Later, the students and teachers of DIU organized a Human Chain in front of the main campus demanding Nirapad Sarak at Shukrabad area in Mirpur Road.
Mentionable that, Shahin Ferdous – a brilliant student of Computer Science and Engineering Department of DIU died by a tragic road accident on April 13, 2014 in front the university.
