DIU introduces Industry Academia Lecture series

Aiming to motivate the educated youths of the struggle and challenges faced on route to success by the well-known entrepreneurs of the country, Daffodil International University Industry Academia Lecture Series on Entrepreneurship Development introduced by Innovation and Incubation Center (IIC) held on Monday at DIU Auditorium. Innovation and Incubation Center (IIC) of Daffodil International University (DIU) has taken the initiative where country’s renowned 12 successful well-known Entrepreneurs are taking part in these lecture series gradually in different episode and delivering their success story. Today’s program was 8th of its continuous Endeavour where Latifur Rahman, Chairman and CEO of Transcom Group delivered the 8th lecture of the series on “Entrepreneurship towards Creativity”.
Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University delivered the welcome address in the program. The program was also addressed by Prof Dr Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor, Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director ( Student Affairs) and Md. Abu Taher Khan, Director, Innovation and Incubation Center (IIC) of DIU. Country’s renowned industrialists, business leaders, economists, teachers, researchers and elites of the civil society were present at the program.
Latifur Rahman, Chairman, Transcom Group urged the young students to be educated on morally and ethically holding the social values in their character. He said, it is not enough to achieve an academic certificate only, rather you should also get an ethical certificate. Otherwise the academic certificate wouldn’t effective to your career.
Rahman said, my grandson Faraz was a young man like you. He was morally educated and he proved his morality and set a lesson by donated his life.
Replying a question by a Nigerian student Rahman said, desire is enough to be an entrepreneur. Business idea is everywhere.
Just you took the idea and do hard work for fulfill your desire. Inspiring the students he reminded that there is no alternate of success except leadership quality.
Sabur Khan said, there is no research work on Bangladeshi successful entrepreneur in any university of Bangladesh. It is too much miserable. Bangladeshi students are reading foreign entrepreneurs life-story and case study as they want to understand the struggling of an entrepreneur. But the life of our own entrepreneurs is also full of struggle. And that’s why we arranged these lecture series for our students to listen those struggling story.
Sabur Khan also said that Mr. Latifur Rahman is a legendary star in Bangladeshi business sector. He is the role model of ethical business. It is our pride to listen his story about entrepreneur’s journey.
The lectures of these 12 successful entrepreneurs will be compiled and published as a book which will act as a reference book for the students of Business Administration, Economics and Entrepreneurship Development department.
This book will help the students to learn and understand their gained academic knowledge in perspective of real life experience. Initiative has been taken to develop 12 individual video documentaries on these successful entrepreneurs from Innovation and Incubation Center (IIC) of Daffodil International University.
