Sports Reporter :Daffodil International University (DIU) Inter-University T20 Cricket Tournament will begin on May 20 at the DIU Cricket Field in Ashulia, Dhaka. Daffodil International University will arrange the cricket competition.A total of 10 private universities splitting into two groups will participate in the cricket tournament. They are: BRAC University, Independent University Bangladesh, University of Liberal University of Bangladesh, Daffodil International Academy, International University of Business Agriculture and Technology, City University, Green University, Eastern University, Bangladesh University and Daffodil International University.To mark the upcoming cricket tournament, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday. Acting Vice-Chancellor of Daffodil University Professor Dr SM Mahbubul Haque Majumder, Co-Convener of the Tournament Committee and Deputy Registrar of Daffodil University Ishaque Miji, player of Zimbabwe National Cricket team Hamilton Masakadza, Administrator of Bangabandhu National Stadium Md Yahya and Senior Assistant Director (PR) Md Anowar Habib Kazal were present at the conference.The champions will be awarded Tk 50,000 while the runners-up will be given Tk 30,000 as prize-money. The Fair Play team will get Tk 15,000. The Man of the Tournament will be awarded Tk 5,000 and the Man of the Final will get Tk 2,000.The final will be held on June 3.State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, MP, will be the chief guest of the final and distribute the prizes among the winners.
