Textile Engineering (TE) Department became champion while Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department became runner up in Daffodil International University (DIU) Inter Department Cricket Tournament- 2016. In the final match held recently at the permanent campus of the university at Ashulia, Textile Engineering (TE) defeated Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Dept by 2 wickets.
CSE Dept won the toss and decided to bat first and collected 94 runs within stipulated 10 over losing 6 wickets. In reply, TE Dept collected 96 runs losing 8 wickets and won by 2 wickets. Jewel of Textile Engineering (TE) adjudged as the ‘Man of the Match’ while Shariful Saikat of Business Administration adjudged as the “Man of the Tournament”
Prof Dr Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU was present as chief guest at the award giving ceremony and distributed prizes to the champion and runner up team. Prof Dr Mostafa Kamal, Director (Permanent Campus) and Dr ABM Mostafa Kamal, Advisor, DIU SPORTS club were also present at the award giving ceremony.
