DIU beat BRAC University by nine wickets

Daffodil International University (DIU) beat BRAC University by nine wickets in the opening match of DIU-ACME Inter University T20 Cricket tournament held on Saturday at DIU permanent campus at Ashulia in Savar.
Batting first after winning the toss, BRAC University posted 87 for all in 13 overs, said a press release on Saturday.
In reply, DIU strolled to the victory making 89 runs in 12.1 over for the loss of one wicket.
Saikat of Daffodil International University claimed five wickets for 12 runs and later named the man of the match for his impressive bowling performance.
Earlier, professor Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Dean, permanent campus formally inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest. M Monjurul Islam, brand ambassador of the tournament and ICC Development coach & former cricketer of Bangladesh national cricket team was present as the special guest in the inauguration ceremony.
The inaugural ceremony was also addressed by Syed Mizanur Rahman Raju, director of student affairs, Dr. ABM Kamal pasha, convener of the tournament.
To increase sporting culture and practice and develop interaction among the students of private universities, Daffodil International University organized “Daffodil International University-ACME inter university T 20 Cricket from February 25, 2017 at DIU permanent campus cricket ground.
Country’s leading eight private universities are participating in this tournament. The participating teams are BRAC University, Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (IUBAT), Green University, Jahurul Islam Medical College, Popular Medical College and host Daffodil International University ( DIU).
