DIU at regional final of Hult Prize

On-Campus Hult Prize Final Competition held on Sunday at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University (DIU). Dr Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU inaugurated the final event of the Hult Prize as the chief guest. Considering the performance and feasibility of the seven business ideas, the team “Parameter” to produce energy from wastage was adjudicated by the judges panel as best business ideas and selected to compete for the next round in the regional final to compete in one of fifteen regional finals happening around the world next March. The winning team members are: Shamsun Nahar, Nadim Mahmud, Amit Saha, and Debanjana Saha, won the competition.
3 members judges panel comprised with Ishtiaq Ahmed, CEO at Kazi Farms Group; Homaira Chowdhury, Managing Director of Frontier Technology Limited; Mr. Monsurul Aziz, Head, Enterprise Design, Toru- Institute of Inclusive Innovation. The function was also addressed among others by Masum Iqbal, Head, Department of Business Administration, Mr. Shibli Shahriar, Head, Department of Entrepreneurship, Sabiha Matin Bipasha and campus Director, Iqbal Hossain Shemul.
The winning team was awarded with Return Air Ticket of Regional final. They will be groomed for three months by the experts before regional final.
One winning team from each host city will then move on to a summer business incubator, where participants will receive mentorship, advisory and strategic planning as they create prototypes and set-up to launch their new social business. A final round of competition will be hosted in September 2018 in which the winning team will be awarded the $1,000,000 prize.
Dr Md. Sabur Khan said, for the first time DIU is hosting this mega event with a big scale to create social awareness and bring out the entrepreneurs who will contribute to solve the society’s big challenge. DIU is confident that its peers on campus have as good as chance as anyone to go all the way and with this year’s Hult Prize .
