Two farmers went missing after a boat capsized in the Padma River at Lalpur upazila of Natore on Sunday.
The missing farmers were residents of Balitila area of Lalpur upazila, said Lalpur Fire Service Station officer Ruhul Amin.
A boat with six people was crossing the river in the afternoon and sank due to strong current when it reached Balughat area, he added. Four people managed to swim ashore while the rest remained missing, he said. “We are operating a drive to rescue the two farmers… a team of divers from Rajshahi is also on the way to join the drive,” Amin said.
6 die with fever, cold related problems in Cumilla

Six people died with fever and cold related problems in Cumilla in the last 24-hour till Monday morning.
With the new deaths, so far 88 people died with the same same symptoms, said Dr Sajeda Khatun, assistant director of Comilla Medical College Hospital in the morning. In the district, so far 2,681 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus.
Besides, total 777 people made recovery from the disease. Bangladesh on Sunday reported 3,531 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours, raising the total number to 1,12,306. During the period, 39 more patients died from the disease, taking the death toll to 1,464.
CMP Commissioner wants to donate plasma after recovering from Covid-19

Md Mahbubur Rahman, Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) on Monday expressed his wish to donate plasma after he recovered from coronavirus infection recently.
The Commissioner came up with the desire while talking to the journalists in the morning. “My blood group is B positive and I want to donate plasma,” he said. “Now I’m completely sound but will remain in isolation for few more days with doctor’s consultancy.” Rahman said.
He fell sick on June 5 and his test reports confirmed his infection on June 8 and received treatment from home. He had no other symptoms except fever.
Meanwhile, as Covid-19 keeps raging in Bangladesh, health authorities on Monday reported 38 more nationwide deaths from the virus, putting the tally at 1,502.

The local administration has decided to put three areas in Khulna City Corporation and Rupsha upazila under lockdown from June 25after an increase in the number ofCovid-19 patients
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Helal Hossain came up with the information and marked the three areas as ‘red zone’ while talking at the Coronavirus prevention committee.
The areas include wards No 17 and 24ofKhulna City Corporation and Aichgati in Rupsha upazila.
Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukdar Abdul Khalek, Khulna Divisional Commissioner Dr Mohammad Anwar Hossain Hawladar and Director of Khulna Health Department Rasheda Sultana were present at the meeting. The lockdown will remain in force till July 16.
Sonadanga Bus Terminal, Khulna Medical College Hospital and kitchen markets will remain out of the purview of the lockdown. People will be informed about the lockdown through loudspeakers. All shopping malls of the district will remain open for three days (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday) till 5pm from June 26.
Besides, red flags will be hoisted atop houses of Covid-19 patients. The health authorities on Monday reported 38 more deaths from the virus, putting the tally at 1,502.
During the period, they confirmed the detection of 3,480 new cases, taking the total number of Covid-19 patients in the country to 115,786.
Corona situation deteriorating rapidly in Barishal

Corona situation rapidly deteriorating in Barishal district as the number of infected persons reached to 1,222 in last 71-days including newly infected 51 persons of law enforcing agencies detected as corona positive till Monday.
Out of 1, 222 corona persons of the district 328 were females and 894 were male.
Besides out of 1, 222 corona positive detected 62 persons were from 0-20 years old, 934 were 21-50 years aged and rest 226 were more than 50 years old.
Among the 1,222 corona positive detected patients 17 died and 201 cured after getting treatment.
Out of 1,222 corona-positive victims of the district 944 were from BCC areas, 45 from Babuganj, 45 from Wazirpur, 42 from Gournadi, 31 from Bakerganj, 30 from Banaripara, 23 from Mehendiganj, 22 from Muladi, 20 from Sadar upazila, 12 from Agoiljhara and 8 from Hizla upazilas of the district.
During this period total seventeen including 9 were from BCC and rest 8 were from other upazilas of the district died of corona positive.
One killed , 20 hurt in Itna clash

A man was killed and 20 others were injured in a clash between two rival groups led by Shahabuddin and Monayem member respectively at Amirganj area in Itna Upazila of Kishoreganj on Sunday afternoon over maintaining supremacy and taking control of a waterboy.
The victim was identified as Nuruddin Miah (36) son of Suruj Miah at Amirganj village in Mriga Union under Itna Upazila.
The injured men were admitted to Kishoreganj General Hospital, Zahirul Islam Medical College Hospital and Itna Upazila Health Complex.
Itna Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md. Morsheduzzaman told the New Nation that on information Police rushed to the spot and dead body was recovered.
The body was sent to Kishoreganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Infected,1226, recovered 440, dead 22 in Kishoreganj

At least 96 more people have been infected with Covid-19 in Kishoreganj district in last 24 hours till Monday afternoon.
Civil Surgeon of Kishoreganj Dr. Mujibur Rahman told The New Nation that the number of virus patients in the district now stood at 1226 and at least 440 men have recovered from Coronavirus in 13 Upazillas.
Number of infected men in Kishoreganj Sadar 230, Bhairab 462, Karimganj 80, Hosseinpur 25 Tarail 68, Pakundia 52, Katiadi 67, Kuliarchar 86, Nikli 17, Bajitpur 77, Itna 25, Mitamoin 28 and Austogram 8.
