Distribution of forms for admission to government secondary schools across the country will start from December 15.
Aspirants will be able to collect forms till December 27, said a Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education admission policy for government schools issued on Friday.
Lottery to enroll students will take place on December 30, it added.
The form distribution and submission will take place online.
DSHE director Belal Hossain said that the Education Ministry approved the admission policy on Thursday and they issued it on Friday.
Students have to pay during submission of the forms at schools. The price has been fixed at Tk 115 each.
Like previous years, the schools of the capital will be divided into three groups — A, B and C — based on the geographic locations of the schools.
Students in Dhaka will be able to select five schools from each group.
On the last week of November, Education Minister Dipu Moni announced that school admission in the coming academic session will be based on lottery and the application process will be done online.
The decision has been made to avoid health risks amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
She also said 50 percent quota, instead of the current 40 percent, will be reserved for students for admission to their local school in the capital.
