Bangladeshi athletes showed dismal performances on the 3rd day of the Asian Athletics Championship in the Indian city Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
Bangladesh athlete Al Amin began the day with frustrating performance in the men’s long jump covering distance of 7.11 meters and was placed 15th among the 20 competitors. Another Bangladeshi athlete Mohammad Ismail finished last in the event jumping 5.01 meters.
In the men’s 110-meter hurdles, Masud Rana of Bangladesh finished last among the seven participants clocking 15.41 seconds while Sumi Akhter also finished last among the six competitors with a timing of one minute 26.48 seconds in the women’s 800-meter run.
In the men’s 800 meter race, Kamrul Hasan of Bangladesh was placed 8th among the 10 participants in heat number-3 clocking one minute 56.42 while another Bangladeshi athlete Kibria Khondakar was placed 8th in heat number-I with a timing of one minute 54.66 seconds.
In the men’s hammer throw, Mohammad Hedayet Hossain of Bangladesh finished last among the eleven competitors throwing 41.21 meters.
In the women’s 4X100-meter relay race, Bangladesh women’s team comprises Susmita Ghosh, Jesmin Akhter, Sumi Akhter and Shohagi Akhter finished 8th among the eight competitors with a timing of 50.59 seconds.
