A discussion program ahead of the Victory Day was held at Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan Auditorium in the city’s Panthapath area yesterday.
The speakers recalled the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and martyrs of the Liberation War.
An especial prayer also offered seeking the welfare of the heroes of the nation for their great contribution during the Liberation War in 1971.
The Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) arranged the program chaired by Hamdard’s Chief Motawalli and Managing Director (MD) Dr Hakim Md Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan, said a press release.
Qamrul Islam, former Food Minister and Dhaka Constiuency-2 lawmaker, was present as the chief guest, it said.
Chairman Board of Hamdard Trustees Kazi Goam Rahman, its Vice-Chairman Dr A K Azad Khan, Deputy Managing Director Mohammad Jamal Uddin, Director Md Anisul Haque, Lakkkipur Municipal Mayor and freedom fighter Abu Taher, Prof Hakim Shiri Farhad, Lt Col Mahbub Alam Choudhury, Major (Rtd) Iqbal Mahmud Choudhury and Dr Hakim Nargis Marjan, among others, were present in the event, the release mentioned.
