Discussion on Bangabandhu held at JU

A discussion meeting on ‘Bangabandhu ‘ was held at the common room of Mawlana Bhasani Hall on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus on Thursday.
Mawlana Bhasani hall unit of JU Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) arranged the function while Professor of JU Government and Politics department also Information Commissioner Dr. Khurshida Begume Sayed addressed the function as the chief guest.
The speakers said that Bangabandhu was a philosopher and he declared the country’s independence on March 7, 1971 through his historic speech at Surahrawardi Udyan in Dhaka city.
The people of Bangladesh were also ready to make the country independent from Pakistan after the general election of 1970 in which Awami League bagged most of the seats of the then East Pakistan.
Presided over by Organizing Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), JU unit Murshidur Rahman Akhanda, Professor of JU International Relations department Dr. Abdulla-Hel-Kafi, Proctor Professor Dr. Tapan Kumer Shaha, Assistant Professor of JU Government and Politics department ASM Firuz-ul-Hasan, Lecturer Tariqul Islam, writer Akter Hossain and Central Vice-President of Bangladesh Chhatra League Rajib Ahmed Rasel addressed the function, among others.
