The picture of winter morning in villages are really very touchable. By ignoring the foggy and winter morning, women are running in their work. They all are working women. They work in the field-farm. Storm and rain also could not stop or fear them. These women are keeping lots of contributons in the cultivation and harvesting of winter vegetables.
The demand and need of women workers increased not only in agricultural sector but also in garment factories and other seasonal works. Besides, the less tendency of deceit regarding their work increased the demand and value of women workers. As a result, women workers from all over the country are now working and spending their time in the field for the production and cultivation of agricultural crops.
The women workers are showing their skill in plantation, cultivation and also in the extraction of the crops and vegetables. According to the demand and work the wages of women workers have not increased increased. Being equal to men, rural women are mostly utilized for agricultural purposes. Before these women workers were paid very few wage but now it has increased slightly because of the increase in demand.
Farmers said that women workers are not available for work in time if they do not keep the money in advance. Besides, the availability of these women workers has also become difficult due to the involvement of various VGD, VGF, elderly and widow allowances, employment promotion activities for the development of the Union Parishad. Everyday a male worker gets 300 taka and female workers gets 200 taka.
It has been found in the area, that if male farmer remains busy with the cultivation work of winter vegetables, every day hundreds of women, from the morning to the afternoon, earns money on different labor-oriented activities and fulfil the scarcity of the family. Not only that womwn workers are seen to work in most of the factories, construction companies and rice mills. Uttara EPZ has created the working field of women in agarbati, candle, leather factory, brickwork and in various activities. . So according to the women workers they want equal wages and equal value as they are doing equal work.
