Disciplined life to prevent diabetes emphasised

Rangpur Diabetic Samity (RDS) on its office premises arranged a discussion meeting to mark the World Diabetes Day recently. Health experts at the discussion stressed on the essence of leading disciplined life alongside regular exercise and taking balanced food to prevent the silent killer disease of diabetes.
They viewed this at a discussion arranged by Rangpur Diabetic Samity (RDS) on Sunday afternoon.
The RDS jointly with the District Administration chalked out programs including bringing out of the colourful rally, arranging free diabetic tests and discussion marking the day.
Expert physicians, freedom fighters, educationists, business community leaders, civil society members and local elite participated in the programs.
DC Md Asib Ahsan attended the discussion as the Chief Guest with Vice-president of RDS and Professor Dr Muhammad Rezaul Haq in the chair. Civil Surgeon Dr Herambo Kumar Roy attended the discussion as a special guest.
Joint General Secretary of RDS and valiant freedom fighter Md Jahangir and its Treasurer and Awami League leader Md Abul Kashem and Awami League leader Shamim Talukder also spoke.
Head of the Department of Medicine of Rangpur Medical College and its Vice-principal Professor Dr Md Mahfuzer Rahman presented a keynote essay narrating various aspects of diabetes.

Hospital at around 11 a.m. followed by a discussion held at the hospital.With Mozibul Hasan Chowdhury in the chair, the discussion was addressed among others by Principal Anowara Khatun, Medical Officers – Md Anowarul Karim, Rojina Akhter, Mobashshira Elam and Laila Anjumanara.
