President Abdul Hamid on Sunday urged the chairman and members of the Public Service Commission (PSC) to discharge their duties being respectful to the constitution as it is a constitutional body.
He also advised them to ensure transparency and accountability at all steps of recruitment process so that talented people can be recruited to government jobs.
The President said this while PSC chairman Ekram Ahmed made a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban.
President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.
The PSC chairman said recruitment process for cadre and non-cadre posts is now being digitised to cut recruitment time. If any problem is created during examinations in any regional centres, PSC is now solving those through videoconferencing.
He told the President that the commission now prepares multiple sets of questions for examinations and which set of questions will be used for a scheduled examination is determined through a lottery just 30 minutes ahead of the beginning of the examination.
