National Disaster Preparedness Day (NDPD) will be observed every year on March 10 aimed at raising awareness of people and motivating them to manage disaster successfully.
The decision was taken at an inter-ministerial meeting at the seminar room of Disaster management and Relief Ministry with secretary of the ministry M Shah Kamal in the chair, said a press release A decision was also taken that the issue will be placed before the cabinet meeting soon.
Generally, the Day is observed on the last Thursday of the month of March. But last year, the Day was observed on March 31 as the last Thursday was the Independence Day.
So, the ministry has taken the decision to observe the Day on March 10 every year.
