Disadvantaged women are being imparted training in Narsingdi for making them self-reliant under Women Assistant Programme.
District Women Affairs Officer Sayeda Masuda Islam said the year-long training course for the distressed women began in 1990 and so far 4,500 helpless women imparted training.
They are being imparted training on tailoring, block-boutique and embroidery through the four training centers of the department in the district.
This year training are being imparted for 50 in Sadar upazila, 30 in Monohardi, 30 in Belabo and 30 in Polash upazila training centers.
Besides, three months training courses are ongoing for the 30 women on mobile phone service, food processing, beautician and candle making in Sadar upazila training centre.
After completion the training course, the Women Affairs Department provides loans with the trained women to make them self reliant.
