Joydebpur police have arrested an old man named Asaduzzaman (56) for raping a teenager.
The arrested Asaduzzaman is the son of late Keramat Ali of Ranipur Madhyapara village in Gazipur Sadar upazila. Police arrested him from Ranipur Madhyapara area on Saturday afternoon.
According to the case sources, the victim teenager (12) is speech impaired, so she walks around the house invisibly. Last Friday (May 13) at around 10:30 am, he left the house without telling anyone. At that time, Asaduzzaman found the disabled girl alone while she was grazing cows in the abandoned land, grabbed her by the mouth and forcibly raped her. After hearing the girl’s screams, the pedestrians rushed to the spot and rescued her. She was taken to Gazipur Shaheed Taj Uddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital.
The elder brother of the girl filed a case with Joydebpur police station. Later, a team led by Gazipur Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Sanjida Afrin raided Joydebpur police station and arrested the accused Asaduzzaman.
