The Directors’ Guild, an organisation of film-makers that works for the television in the country, has decided to felicitate 36 prominent media personalities.
These people have already received one of the major accolades in the country – the Swadhinata Padak, the Ekushey Padak or the National Film Award, for their contribution in film-making.
These prominent figures include Amjad Hossain, Syed Hasan Imam, Saidul Anam Tutul, M Hamid, Suborna Mustafa, Mamunur Rashid, Morshedul Islam, Abul Hayat, Hanif Sanket, Mustafa Monwar, Sara Zaker, Tariq Anam Khan, Gazi Rakayet, Nasiruddin Yousuff, Masum Aziz, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Golam Sohrab Dodul, Shahidul Haque Khan, Rokeya Prachy, Zahid Hasan, Shahidul Alam Sachchu, Nurul Alam Atique, Abu Sayeed, Giasuddin Selim, Syed Wahiduzzaman Diamond, Murad Parvez, Saiful Islam Badal, Mahfuz Ahmed, Animesh Aich, Redoan Rony, Shahnewaz Kakoli, Rezanur Rahman, Mohammad Hossain Jemy and Reazul Rezu.
Besides, the Directors’ Guild will also honour Abdullah al Mamun and Khalid Mahmood Mithu, posthumously, in the presence of their families.
SA Haque Alik, the general secretary of Directors’ Guild, said, “Many members of the Directors’ Guild have received national and international accolades for their works. Some of them are no longer with us.”
“We could not commend them for their achievements. With this thought, we want to congratulate these people, along with the two departed souls in a formal way.”
Alik informed that the ceremony will take place at a convention centre in the capital on June 9, Friday, where the members of the Directors’ Guild, actors and technicians who work for the television production will be present.
