The BGMEA team headed by the newly elected first vice President Moinuddin Ahmed Minto greet Bond Commissioner by presenting bouquet . The new first vice President Moinuddin Ahmed apprised the present situation of garments sector in chitagong and the present hard times that facing by them .
He said in very inception of the emergence of garments industries in the country, 40 percent garments exports were conducted from Chittagong but not it declines to only 9 percent of total exports. He said to overcome this situation, there is no alternative of garments village. The newly elected first vice President said BGMEA now working for achieving the export targets of US $ 50 billion by 2021 .
He sought every cooperation of the Bond commissionerate of chittagong to speed up the bond facilities Besides, the closed factories as per reports of Accord and Compliances , they sought quick approval from Bond to shift their machineries in new premises. The BGMEA leaders urged the Bond commissioner to simplify the audit activities of RMG sector for quick disposal of export consignments.
Bond commissioner praised the RMG sector for creating huge employment opportunities and earning of foreign exchange through this sector and assures necessary cooperation to sustain the RMG sector with global competition .
He also directed to take immediate steps to shift the machineries of the closed factories as per report of compliances and Accord. Among others BGMEA Directors Syed Md. Tanveer, selim Rahman, former first vice president Shahabuddin Ahmed and Md. Ershadullah, former Director Helaluddin chowdhury, newly elected vice president Md.Ferdous, Director Kazi Mahbub, Md. Saifullah, Amjad Hossain chowdhury,former Director SM Sajedul Islam were present during the courtesy call.
