Education Minister Dipu Moni has urged students and guardians to ignore the rumours as the government took “stringent measures” to prevent question leaks in the ongoing higher secondary exams.
The minister spoke to the journalists on Monday, the first day of the HSC exam following a visit to the centre at Siddheswari Girls College in Dhaka.
“I urge the examinees and their guardians not yo pay heed to any rumour – not to run into any fraudulence. I believe the question paper won’t leak, by the grace of Allah, and the exam will be held properly.”
Law-enforcement agencies are ‘quite active’ to prevent the rumours about question leaks prior to the exam, the minister said.
“They’re keeping a sharp eye on the issue just like they did during the SSC exam. Strong measures will be taken against those engaged in spreading such rumours, or cheating people.”
More than 1.35 million students are attending the higher secondary and equivalent exams being held in 2,579 centres throughout the country.
