BDMA, a national organisation of sub – assistant community medical officers, came up with the demand at a press conference at Jatiya Press Club. BDMA President Dr. Md. Samsul Huda, Secretary
General Dr. Md. Sirajul Islam Bachchu, General Secretary Dr. Zakir Hossain Badal, among others, were present.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Md. Samsul Huda said some 5200 sub-assistant community medical officers are providing health services to the people of the country in Unions and Upazila health complexes under the Health Directorate and there are some 2500 officers under the Family Planning Department.
“But it is very unfortunate that other professionals, including nurse, engineers, having same Diploma Degree are enjoying the 10th grade in the pay scale but we are deprived of it,” he said.
