A 15-member executive committee of Jagannath University Teachers’ Association (JnUTA) has been elected for a one-year term with Dr Prof Dipika Rani Sarker as the President and Dr Prof Noor Mohammad as the General Secretary.
Physics department professor Dr Dipika Rani Sarker got 267 votes while his opponent Dr. Md Jakir Hossain got 215 votes.
Psychology department Associate Professor Dr Noor Mohammad bagged 302 votes while his opponent Mathematics department Professor Dr Md Abdul Alim bagged 152 votes.
Chief election commissioner Prof Dr Suronzon Kumar Das announced the results of the polls on Tuesday which was held at the university central auditorium from 9:00am to 2:30pm.
Dr Md Anwar Hossain, Professor of Social Work Department was elected as Vice-President, while Dr Mohammad Abdullah Mahfuz,Associate Professor of Marketing department as Treasurer and Dr Md Shamsul Kabir, Associate Professor of Islamic History and Culture department as Joint-Secretary.
The executive members are: Dr Abdus Samad of Chemistry department, Masud Rana of Zoology, Dr Moniruzzaman Khandaker of Botany, Dr Monira Jahan of Institution of Education and Research, Dr Ritu Kundu of Public Administration,Md Meftahul Hasan of Law department, among others.
