Three more people who sustained burn injuries in a boiler explosion at a rice mill in Dinajpur on Wednesday died at Rangpur Medical College Hospital and Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Sunday, raising the death toll from the incident to seven.
The victims were identified as Ranjit Bosak, manager of the rice mill and two workers- Shafiqul Islam and Udoy. Shafiqul Islam and Udoy succumbed to their injuries in the morning at Rangpur Medical College and Hospital and Ranjit at DMCH around 3am, hospital sources said. On Wednesday, two workers, including a female one, were killed and 28 people suffered burn injuries as the boiler went off at ‘Jamuna Auto Rice Mill’ at Gopalganj village in Dinajpur Sadar upazila. Of the injured, 14 were shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where one of the injured succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning. Besides, another died at Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Friday.
