National Cricket: Dinajpur beat Satkhira by 8 wkts

Dinajpur DSA beat Satkhira DSA by 8 wickets in a match of the 34th National Cricket Championship at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra on Friday.
Sent to bat first, Satkhira were dismissed for 137 in 45.1 overs with number six Faruk Hossain scoring team highest 40 runs.
Tanvir Haider grabbed four wickets for 21 runs. Nobin Islam took three wickets for 18 runs and later he added unbeaten 32 runs for his side to be adjudged man-of-the-match.
Chasing 138 runs, Dinajpur reached the target for two wickets in 25.3 overs riding on skipper Liton Kumar’s 72 runs off 48 balls with nine fours and a six while Arif Reza added unbeaten 30 runs.
Anamul Haque and Mezbah Ul-Islam took one wicket each for 27 and 31 runs respectively.
Meanwhile, Faridpur DSA defeated Naogaon DSA by 43 runs in a rain interrupted match at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.
Batting first after winning the toss, Faridpur posted a challenging total of 203 runs for 9 in stipulated 50 overs.
Shahalam Ahmed scored team highest 52 runs while Arafat Sunny Jr added 43 runs. Riazul Huda scored 39 runs and later he took two wickets for 32 runs for his side to be adjudged man-of-the-match.
Mohaiminul Islam Mohit grabbed three wickets for 31 runs while Md Rifat took two wickets conceding 43 runs.
Naogaon opened the innings and scored 10 without losing any wicket before the match was halted due to wet outfield by rain.
The match was rescheduled (173 runs in 35 overs) as per DL method. Naogaon chased the revised target of 163 runs in 33.5 overs and were dismissed for 129 runs in 29.5 overs.
Ariful Islam Mohon (37) and skipper Jillu (33) were the two top scorers for their side.
Monjur Ahamed grabbed four wickets for 32 runs while Md Asif took two wickets.
