Three friends of Tanvir Iftekhar Dihan detained in connection with an ‘O’ level student at Kalabagan in the capital were freed, said Ramna Zone’s deputy police commissioner Sajjad Hossain.
Quoting Dihan, he said the lone accused also told the court that his three friends were not involved in the incident. The accused had committed the crime.
Sajjad Hossain said police didn’t find the involvement of Dihan’s three friends in rape of the girl. They were released after questioning on Friday night.
Besides, he said none was made accused in the case filed by the victim’s father. They were released as their involvement was not found in the incident. They were handed over to their respective families.
However, Sajjad Hossain said they might be summoned for the sake of investigation at any moment.
