Digitization introduced at DU accounting activities

The Dhaka University (DU) authorities have brought all kinds of accounting activities under an automated system.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Md. Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the account automation as the chief guest at a function organised on Wednesday at university’s Professor Abdul Matin Chowdhury Virtual Classroom, said a press release.
DU Pro-VC (Administration) Dr Muhammad Samad, Dean of DU Engineering and Technology faculty Md. Hasanuzzaman, Convener of the Computerization Committee on Accounts (Expert Committee) Professor Shanti Narayan Ghosh and Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering Prof. Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, among others, were present on the occasion, with DU Treasurer Prof. Dr. Mamtaz Uddin in the chair.
Through this automation method, university students will be able to deposit their fees at any branch of Janata Bank through digitalized receipts and to deposit anytime from anywhere through any mobile bank card or mobile banking such as bKash, Rocket and Nagad.
With the changed method, it will be possible to create the list of income or expenditure of all sectors of the university at the quickest time.
From now on, the salaries, pensions, income tax, insurance, bank loans, provident funds, beneficent funds, teachers’ examination bills and accounts of various trust funds of the teachers, officers and employees will be completed automatically.
In addition, it will be possible to provide various income and expenditure statements as per the demand of various government departments / agencies at the earliest time.
This automation process of the university was completed with the combination of 15 software modules through DU-AIS Project, coordinated by DU Computer Science and Engineering department.
