A 3-day day digital innovative fair was inaugurated in Jhenaidh on Thursday morning. Organized by the district administration, Deputy Commissioner Mahbub Alam Talukder inaugurated the fair in a simple ceremony releasing pigeons at Old DC court ground as chief guest.
A colourful rally started from the venue paraded the town and ended at the same place. Deputy director of local government rural development Abu Yusuf Mohammad Rezaur Rahman, additional deputy commissioner (development) Abdur Rauf Mandal, Additional district magistrate Asaduzzaman, additional deputy commissioner(revenue) Khodeza Khatun, deputy director of the department of agriculture extension Shah Akramul Haque and Jhenaidah press club president M Raihan among others present during the inaugural session.
A total of 60 stalls were provided at the fair from various government and non-governmental organizations. The fair was scheduled to be concluded on Saturday, said the organisers.
BSS from Rajshahi adds: Speakers in a discussion here observed that the digitisation of both public and private services would lead the country to achieve double digit growth in the next few years.
They also viewed the technological advancement in Bangladesh is increasing day by day and young generation can make it more rapid.
They were addressing the inaugural session of a three-day-long ‘Digital Innovation Fair-2017’ at Rajshahi Collage playground yesterday. Latest ICT products, multi-media classroom, mobile banking and e-learning items put on display in around 64 stalls and three pavilions at the fair.
District Administration arranged the fair in collaboration with Ministry of Science and ICT and Prime Minister’s office, A2I with a view to encouraging people to use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for building a ‘Digital Bangladesh’. “Present Government is committed to building Digital Bangladesh” is the main theme of the fair.
Commissioner of Rajshahi division Abdul Hannan and Principal of Rajshahi College Prof Habibur Rahman addressed the session as chief and special guests respectively with Kazi Ashraf Uddin, Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi, in the chair.
Abdul Hannan said the government has been working sincerely for reaching all services to the doorsteps of the people in a hassle-free manner. The common people have started getting digital services like e-governance, e-education, e- agriculture, e-health and other e-services at the union, upazila and district levels. The country must be built as digital Bangladesh to ensure its middle income status by 2021, he added.
DC Kazi Ashraf Uddin said the fair is a step towards providing extensive citizen services to the citizen. Through this fair, citizens from district levels will avail the scope of getting aware of the e-services at their doorsteps.
Besides, they would get to experience some important and regular services in-venue to understand the mechanics and advantages of these electronically transformed services. Such services have reduced time of transaction and made the process fairly simple and transparent with most efficiency towards public satisfaction.
