Digital display to be installed for showcasing development activities

The government has launched a project to install “digital display” to showcase its development activities before the people.
The “showcasing Bangladesh” project will install large LED screens at public places to increase people’s participation with development process highlighting the developing activities.
“LED display boards would be set up at crowded places initially in front of the capital’s NAM Bhaban, Suhrawardy Udyan, Bahadur Shah Park, Kamalapur Railway Station and Lunch Terminals to showcase the development activities of government,” Planning Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal said on Tuesday.
He said the government in its previous tenure in 1996-2001 and in the current period from 2009 to date, has implemented lots of development activities that should be known to the people. “People’s involvement would be increased further if the progress of the development activities is possible to highlight properly before them,” noted the planning minister.
Mustafa Kamal informed the showcasing Bangladesh project would be expanded at upazila and union parishad levels gradually.
The meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) was apprised of the Showcasing Bangladesh Project which will be implemented with Taka 14 crore.
Planning Division officials said on digital screen, different mega projects such as Metrorail, Hatirjheel, Bangladesh-India Friendship Super Thermal Power Project, LMG terminal, Sonadia deep Sea Port, Ultra Super Critical Coal Fired Power project in Maheshkhali and Payra Deep Sea port etc will be highlighted.
Planning Minister Mustafa Kamal said the ECNEC in the last one year approved a total of 113 development projects involving Taka 91,0960 crore.
