The government has decided to celebrate December 12 as the “Digital Bangladesh Day” instead of the “National Information and Communication Technology Day”.
“The cabinet at its regular meeting on Monday approved a proposal to this effect,” Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told reporters after the meeting held at Bangladesh Secretariat here on Monday morning. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting. The government celebrated the first-ever National Information and Communication Technology Day on December 12 last year to make its “Digital Bangladesh” concept a memorable one.
