Noted Indian filmmaker Shyam Benegal is making biopic of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In this biopic, talented Bangladeshi actress Prarthana Fardin Dighi is playing the role of Bangabandhu’s wife, Fazilatunnesa Mujib.
Dighi went to Dadasaheb Phalke Film City in Mumbai, India at the end of last week of March. She had to stay there to take part in shooting for several days. But due to corona pandemic she could not return to Bangladesh. She also couldn’t manage return ticket due to present pandemic situation. Popular Bangladeshi actor Arifin Shuvoo is playing the role of Bangabandhu in the biopic. While sharing her feelings over mobile phone from Mumbai to play the role of Bangabandhu’s wife Dighi said, “I still can’t believe I am such a small person who is acting in role of Bangabandhu’s wife Fazilatunnesa Mujib in the biopic. I really cannot believe it. It is really a great luck for me to play the role of Fazilatunnesa Mujib. It is a challenging role. Shyam Benegal Sir gave me necessary instructions before acting. It is really a great achievement for my acting career. I give many thanks to my co-actor Shuvoo Bhaiya because he is playing the role of Bangabandhu in the biopic and also co-operated me during shooting. In acting, it is really a necessary to get well support from co-actor. Before standing in front of the camera, my co-actor and director made me absolute relax, which was necessary for doing natural acting. I also give thanks to full unit of the movie.”
Recently Dighi-starrer movie Tungiparar Miya Bhai has been released where also acted in role of Fazilatunnesa Mujib.
