The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday interrogated suspended Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Mizanur Rahman at the gate of Keraniganj Central Jail in Dhaka on Monday.

On July 10, Judge KM Imrul Kayes of the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judges Court set Monday for interrogating Mizan at the jail gate in connection with a bribe scandal.
ACC Director Sheikh Md Fanafillah is leading a three-member probe team that is investigating an allegation about Mizan giving Tk 40 lakh bribe to ACC Director Khandaker Enamul Basir-who was suspended later-to escape from corruption charges Enamul was looking into it as an investigation officer.
On July 2, the same court sent the suspended police official to jail in a case filed for accumulation over Tk3 crore illegally while concealing information of wealth worth over Tk 3 crore.
The ACC filed the case with its Integrated District Office in Dhaka on June 24 against Mizan, his wife Sohelia Anar Ratna, his younger brother Mahbubur Rahman and nephew Mahmudul Hasan, a Sub-Inspector (SI) of police.
The High Court on July 1 rejected Mizan’s anticipatory bail plea in the graft case and handed him over to Shahbagh police.
Earlier, DIG Mizan was withdrawn from Dhaka Metropolitan Police as its additional commissioner when allegations surfaced against him of abducting a woman and marrying her forcibly.
