DHL, the world’s leading logistics service provider, has revealed 26 key trends that could impact the logistics industry in the next five to ten years. The new 2016 Logistics Trend Radar, the third in the pioneering series, introduced brand new trends, tracks the evolution of trends spotted in earlier editions and ones that have faded or become mainstream since the series started in 2013.
The 2016 Logistics Trend Radar provides valuable insights and information on ongoing transformations and latest trends likely to shape the future of logistics – from macro trends such as the changing energy and trade landscape to micro trends.
”Predicting trends is notoriously challenging. It is difficult to know ahead of time which trends will have long-term effect on businesses and which ones are simply parts of a short-lived hype. To identify and understand trends early on in their development we established the Logistics Trend Radar to help us and our customers stay ahead of the curve,” said Markus Kückelhaus, Vice President Innovation and Trend Research, DHL.
The report revealed that worldwide supply chains are beginning to undergo a fundamental transformation as more “artificial intelligence” is deployed to handle both the domestic and international movement of goods.
”The market is changing on an ongoing basis. It is imperative to stay current with trends, developments and future projections. As a global leader in this industry, we must always evolve with the market, especially in a country like Bangladesh with immense potential and business opportunities. The Logistics Trend Radar not only provides an in-depth analysis of each trend but also showcases application ideas that will help businesses in Bangladesh understand the implications of these trends better,” said Nooruddin Chowdhury, Country Manager, DHL Global Forwarding Bangladesh.
