As part of International Women’s Day celebration, DHL Women’s Network Bangladesh arranges a knowledge sharing session with the female employees of both DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Express at a training facility in Tejgaon, in the capital on Sunday.
The theme for this year’s programme is “Pledge for Development”, where 50 female employees from both business units participated and discussed the role of women in today’s world. The session started with some creative thinking on how women can contribute more for the betterment of the workplace and the society as a whole. The participants also discussed the initiatives that they can take in their personal lives for their own development.
Some of the female employees shared their experience of working in unconventional roles and one of them also shared her experience of achieving the ‘Employee of the Year’ award which is a top level award for exceptional performers.
Facilitator for the session, Shahela Haroon, National HR Manager, DHL Express Bangladesh said: “This session has really helped the women in their self-assessment where they have a chance to realize the kind of skill development and proactive initiative they need for their own development.” The country managers for both business units attended the session to share some inspiring words with the female employees.
“More women should come forward to take up challenging roles. Women should not hesitate to contend for a role even if she does not tick all the boxes for the skill requirement. If you are confident and willing to give your 100% to your work, you can always learn the skills on the job,” said Nooruddin Chowdhury, Country Manager, DHL Global Forwarding Bangladesh.
