Police arrested Darmapasha Upazila Parishad Chairman from upazila parishad premises on Friday evening in connection with an arson case.
The arrestee is Motalib Khan, 55, a resident of Muktarpur village and also upazila BNP president.
Ejajul Islam, officer-in-charge of Darmapasha Police Station, said an arson attack was carried out in Deula Primary Government School on December 19. Later, a case was filed in this connection.
Police arrested Motalib in this connection, said the OC.
