The first issue of an international journal Bangladesh Teacher Education Journal (BTEJ, ISSN: 2789-2719) got launched in a jubilant gathering on Wednesday at Govt. Teachers’ Training College (TTC), Dhaka.
The launching program was attended by Prof Nehal Ahmed, Director General, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) as the Chief Guest and by Prof Dr Prabir Kumar Bhattacharjee, Director (Training), DSHE as special guest chaired by Prof Md Golam Faruque, Principal of the College.
The Chief Editor of the journal Associate Professor Dr Ranjit Podder described the perilous journey of publishing the journal in his welcome speech. He expressed gratitude to the Principal and the Vice Principal of the college for patronizing the publication.
He also thanked the Executive Editor, Associate Professor Sheikh Shahbaz Riad, Assistant Professors Mirza Mohammad Didarul Anam and Nargis Begum, and Lecturer Nafisa Begum for their hard work.
Dr. Ranjit said, “The major challenge was getting the research articles. We had to request the writers time and again to submit articles for the first issue of the journal. Then reviews, feedback, and edits.” But despite all odds, he was happy to be able to get the finished product in hand.
Prof Nehal Ahmed appreciated the Chief Editor and the editorial Board members for this nice publication. He urged the Principal to continue the coming issues of the journal at any cost as this practice of research and publishing improves teachers professionally. These small but continuous efforts would help achieve Bangladesh Vision 2041. The journal contains 21 articles from the authors home and abroad.
Professor Dr Prabir Kumar Bhattacharjee also appreciated the publication. Professor Md. Golam Faruque promised that he would continue this publication although there is no fund allotted for research and publications.
The program came to an end with a photo session.
