Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that the government has approved some 64 parking spots for the city residents to facilitate smooth traffic movement.
The decision was taken at the 13th board meeting of Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority held in the DSCC Nagar Bhaban around 11am on Sunday.
O. Quader disclosed the matter while talking to reporters after the meeting.
He said, “Bangladesh Road Transport Authority and Dhaka Metropolitan Police would work together to control the plying of easy bikes and battery-run rickshaws on the city roads.”
“Our government had decided to shift inter-district bus terminals outside Dhaka city, create roadside city forest, form an action plan for Dhaka city to manage traffic, and a comprehensive transport plan for Narayanganj City Corporation,” said the Minister.
