State Minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid sought cooperation from Iranian government for setting up petro chemical industry in the country for continuing its economic progress. He made the request on Wednesday when Iranian Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr Abbas Vaizi Dehnavi expressed his country’s interest to supply raw materials for oil refinery, LNG, CNG and power stations in Bangladesh when he called on the state minister at his office here. Nasrul Hamid greeted Iranian interest for oil supply to Bangladesh and requested the envoy to import different Bangladesh products including jute, jute products, readymade garments (RMG) and medicine.They discussed on different aspects of bilateral issues between the two countries. Fertilizer production with joint investment in Iran also came up for discussion. Additional secretary to department of energy M Nizam Uddin and Bangladesh Allied Business Association executive chief Farzin Niksejel were present, among others, were present in the meeting.
