State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Mahbub Ali yesterday urged Mauritius to provide on-arrival visa facilities for Bangladeshi tourists.
He also proposed to take joint initiatives for further development of tourism industries in both Bangladesh and Mauritius. The state minister made the urge while holding a meeting with Mauritius tourism minister Anil Kumarsingh Gayan at Port Louis, according to a message received here on Saturday.
During the meeting they discussed various matters related to bilateral issues and mutual interest focusing on increasing tourism cooperation between the two countries.
Mabub also discussed several issues related to wellbeing of Bangladeshi expatriate workers who are currently employed especially in RMG sector in Mauritius.
Anil said they are sincere to provide on-arrival visa to Bangladeshi tourists and will work on that.
He lauded leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and termed Bangladesh as a role model of development.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to Mauritius Rezina Ahmed accompanied the state minister.
