Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup Football Tournament: Dhaka MSC to play East Bengal in 2nd semifinal today

Dhaka Mohammedan SC Ltd will face Kingfisher East Bengal Football Club of Kolkata in the 2nd semifinal of the eight-team Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup Football Tournament at MA Aziz Stadium here today (Wednesday).
The 2nd semifinal will kick-off at 7:30 pm amid huge enthusiasm among the local football fans. Channel 9 will telecast the match live.
Dhaka Mohammedan coach Kazi Joshimuddin Ahmed Joshi said their opponent Kingfisher East Bengal Club, the Kolkata League champions, is very strong side as opponent, but they are not ready to allow the loss before the bullet.
“Undoubtedly the Kolkata league champion East Bengal Club is very strong opponents, but I’m not want to die before the death,” Joshi said in a pre-match press conference at MA Aziz Stadium on Wednesday.
“I don’t think that East Bengal Club is an unbeatable side for us, we will fight firmly in all 90 minutes” the coach added.
Joshi informed that they will set their game plan after observing opponent’s tactics and techniques seen in the last three matches.
The coach worried a little bit as some players of his team is suffering from viral fever, but hoped to recover before the match.
Mohammedan’s captain Arup Kumar Baiday said, “We’ve achieved our first target, now we’ll play to reach in the final.”
On the other hand, East Bengal coach Biswajit Bhattacharyya expressed his optimism to do better in the semifinal with their brilliant performances.
“We’ve come here as team to perform well, and we reached near our ultimate goal, hope we’ll play well,” Biswajit continued.
“Admitting Dhaka Mohammedan as a tough opponent, the East Bengal coach said, “We’ve respect to our opponent, .I’ve also trust on my players, as they played bravely in the group matches.” he further said.
Dhaka Mohammedan reached the semifinal as Group-A runners-up securing 6 points from three matches with two wins and one loss while East Bengal Club booked a seat for the semis as group champions with unbeaten run securing 6 points from as many as matches with two wins and one draw.
Dhaka Mohammedan started their group campaign with 1-0 defeat against De Spin Ghar Bazan FC of Afghanistan and made stunning comeback sealing a 6-1 goals victory over Solid Sports Club of Sri Lanka, the biggest margin win in this tournament.
In the 3rd and last group match, Dhaka Mohammedan beat Kolkata Mohammedan by 2-1 goals.
East Bengal Club started their campaign with a 2-1 win over host Chittagong Abahani Ltd and continued the winning spree outplaying Karachi Electric FC by 3-1 goals in the 2nd match, followed by a goalless draw against Dhaka Abahai Ltd.
