Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club (MSC) Ltd routed Solid FC of Sri Lanka by 6-1 goals in their group-A match of the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup Football Tournament at MA Aziz Stadium here on Friday.
Dhaka MSC aesthetically entertained around 8,000 audience dominating the first half by 4-1 goals as well as scoring the tournament highest score in the match.
On the other hand, this is the biggest margin of loss for Solid FC in the international as well as domestic tournaments in the last two years.
Midfielder Faisal Mahmud put Dhaka MSC ahead in the very 10th minute placing the ball from six yard box off a Masuk Miah Zoni’s cut back from the right flank (1-0).
Midfielder Masuk Miah Zoni doubled the margin for Dhaka MSC in the 18th minute. Zoni placed the ball into the net from danger zone after receiving a push pass off Nabib Newaz Jibon from the right flank (2-0).
Dhaka MSC captain Arup Kumar Baidya raised the tally scoring the 3rd goal in the 24th minute by a right footer shot from D box (3-0).
Nabib Newaz Jibon who was adjudged man of the match scored the 4th goal in the 32nd minute by a right footer shot from the danger zone. Captain Arup Kumar Baidya took a shot from the top of the box and goalie AO Daniel fisted the ball to clear and Jibon was there to take his right footer shot (4-0).
Forward OA Olayemi scored the consolation goal for Solid FC during the first half stopgap time. Receiving a throw pass off forward PN Priyankara from left side in the midfield area, OA Olayemi placed the ball into net deceiving goalie Ashraful Islam after dodging Dhaka MSC’s two defenders (4-1).
Midfielder Lamin Camara scored the 5th one for Dhaka MSC in the 48th minute by a header off a midfielder Faisal Mahmood corner pass from left (5-1).
Substitute midfielder Habibur Rahman Shohag extended the margin scoring the 6th goal in the 75th minute placing the ball from danger zone off a substitute forward Tawhidul Alam Sabuz from right flank (6-1).
Dhaka Mohammedan SC will play their last group match against Kolkata Mohammedan SC at 7:30 pm on Sunday (October 25).
Earlier in their first group matches on Wednesday (October 21), Dhaka MSC lost to Bazan FC by a solitary goal while Solid FC beat Kolkata MSC by 2-1 goals at the same venue.
