Train communication from Kishoreganj to Dhaka was suspended on Thursday afternoon after the engine of intercity Kishoreganj Express derailed at Akrampur area near Kishoreganj Railway Station due to technical glitch.
Officials said, the engine was derailed at 2:40pm while it was changing track along with a single compartment before starting journey towards Dhaka.
The train communication, however, was resumed after a salvage train reached the spot from Akhaura Railway Station recovered the derailed engine in the night, Sharful Islam, Station Master of Kishoreganj Railway Station, told The New Nation.
