Dhaka int’l yarn, fabric show begins

The Dhaka International Yarn and Fabric Show-2019 began on Wednesday to showcase the latest and sophisticated yarn, fabrics, accessories and emerging technologies for textile and garment industries.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi inaugurated the four-day show in city’s International Convention Centre Bashundhara (ICCB).
Speaking on the occasion, Tipu Munshi said the government is working relentlessly for the betterment of country’s main export earning sector towards the journey of becoming a developed country by 2041.
Recalling the contribution of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the minister said organizing such an international event is being possible in the country as Bangladesh became independent under the leadership of Bangabandhu.
Over 370 exhibitors from 22 countries from around the world will showcase a diverse range of textile products that include the latest trends and technologies in fabrics, accessories, ready-to-wear and industrial fabrics, innovative and smart fabrics as well.
CEMS-Global and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) have organized the DIFS -2019 jointly. This year’s expo is taking place along with two concurrent exhibitions titled “3rd Dhaka Int’l Denim Show 2019” and “35th Dye+Chem Bangladesh 2019 International Expo”.
The exhibition will remain open for trade and public visitors from 10.30 am to 7.30 pm. The online registration link for the visitor is www.e-registrations.com.
FBCCI President Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, BGMEA President Siddiqur Rahman, BKMEA First Vice President Mansoor Ahmed, President of Centre of Excellence for Bangladesh Apparel Industry (CEBAI) Atiqul Islam, Director of the Sub-Council of Textile Industry CCPIT (CCPIT TEX) Shen Zhen and President and Group Managing Director CEMS Global Meherun N. Islam were also present.
