Entertainment Report :
The three-day festival ‘Dhaka International Folk Festival (DIFF),’ celebrating South Asian folk music, has been cancelled due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
To be organised by Square Toiletries Ltd and Sun Foundation it will not take place this year. Despite taking all the necessary precautions and arrangements, the organisers decided to cancel this year’s edition to minimise risk of spreading Covid-19.
The 5th DIIFF, held last year on November 14, was dedicated to six legends of Bangla music: Fakir Abdur Rob Shah, Subir Nandi, Bari Siddiqui, Shahnaz Rahmatullah, Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul, and Ayub Bachchu.
The cancellation news came as a disappointment to music enthusiasts across the country. The folk festival has been taking place annually at the Banani Army Stadium for the last five years.
