Dhaka Half Marathon to be held on March 2

Dhaka Half Marathon will be held on 2nd March round the Hatirjheel in the city. The participants of half marathon event will run 21km, while the contestants of Mini Marathon will run 7 km to finish the race. A total of 300 participants (male & female) will compete in the Half Marathon, while a number of 300 competitors (male & female) will take part in the Mini Marathon.
Dhaka Run Lords and Thousand Miles Expeditions will jointly organize the events, while Nestle Bangladesh is the title sponsor of the meet. The events will be co-organized by Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation. Apex Footwear Limited and Milvik Limited Bangladesh are the gold sponsors of the meet.
Regarding the forthcoming Mini Marathon and Half Marathon, a press conference was held at the VIP Lounge in National Press Club on Sunday. Chairman of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation Akhtaruzzaman Khan Kabir, Convener of Dhaka Half Marathon-2018 and Director of Dhaka Run Lords Imtiaz Elahi, Managing Director of Base Camp Expeditions Limited Tamzid Siddiq Spondon, Country Manager of Milvik Bangladesh Limited Akira Morita, Head of Marketing Communications & Services of Nestle Bangladesh Limited Shammi Rubayet Karim and Event Director Fuad Ahasan Chowdhury were present at the conference, among others.
Akhtaruzzaman Khan Kabir said, ” Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation will be always beside this kind of sports events. I need the cooperation of sponsors and newsmen to arrange this kinds of events in future. The sponsors will provide money and the newsmen will give coverage to popular these event.”
Tamzid Siddiq Spondon said, ” The urban lifestyle is changing day by day. A good number of people used to run in the morning. We want to give facilities to those to measure their improvement. They can take part in Half Marathon, Mini Marathon etc.”
