Bangladesh wants to see a quick completion of the process on Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Turkey to expand and strengthen trade ties between the two countries.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali laid emphasis on the issue when outgoing Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Huseyin Muftuoglu met him at the Foreign Ministry on Sunday.
The Turkish envoy agreed on the matter and said his country wants to strengthen trade ties between the two countries, and the Turkish Embassy in Dhaka is sincerely working to that end.
The envoy, who has been here for over two years, said sincere efforts from the Embassy will be there in the days to come. Both sides briefly discussed various bilateral issues in the meeting.
He thanked the government and the Foreign Ministry for extending support during his stay in Dhaka. “My tenure here was very pleasant and fruitful one.”
The Foreign Minister also thanked the Turkish envoy for his role in strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
