Bangladesh on Saturday expressed concern over the recent nuclear test carried out by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) as Dhaka believes that “it (test) contravenes the interest of peace, stability and security of the region and beyond”.
“Bangladesh is deeply concerned with the recent nuclear test conducted by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK),” a foreign ministry statement said here describing the test a violation of the United Nations Security Council resolutions nos. 1718, 1874, 2087 and 2094 and the non-proliferation regimes.
As a state party to the CTBT and the NPT, the statement said Dhaka is committed to nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament.
