National Cricket League: Dhaka Division, Rajshahi Division taste victory

Dhaka Division and Rajshahi Division tasted their first victory in the 2nd round of the four-day 17th National Cricket League on the 4th and final day at two separate venues across the country on Tuesday.
In the first class cricket, Dhaka Division beat Rangpur Divisision by 8 wickets in a tier-1 match at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra while Rajshahi Division defeated Chittagong Division by 7 wickets in tier-2 match at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.
In the two other league matches, Barisal Division played to a draw against Sylhet Division in tier-2 match at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna while
Khulna Division drew against Dhaka Metropolis team at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
All the four rain-interrupted first round matches of the league ended in draw last month.
Dhaka Div vs Rangpur
Replying to Dhaka Division first innings total of 449 runs, Rangpur Division, having 248 runs in the first innings, resumed the 2nd innings on Tuesday with overnight 55 for 3 and were all out for 255 runs in 111.1 overs to avoid innings defeat.
Night-watch batsman Suhrawardi Shuvo hit a painstaking century scoring 121 runs off 250 balls, featuring 13 fours and one six and Tanveer Haider added another 26 runs.
Mahbubul Alam grabbed four wickets for 51 runs, Shuvagata Hom captured three wickets conceding 36 runs while Mosharraf Hossain took two wickets for 76 runs in the innings.
In reply, Dhaka Division opened the 2nd innings and scored the match-winner 55 for 2 in 4.2 overs with Shuvagata Hom remaining unbeaten on 40 off 16 balls with one boundary and four sixes.
Tanveer Haider took one wicket for 11 runs

Rajshahi vs Chittagong
Rajshahi Division with Ist innings total 308 runs, resumed the 2nd innings on Tuesday with overnight score 98 for no loss and scored match winner 260 for 3 in 55.5 overs, featuring a century by Junaid Siddique.
Two night watch opening batsmen skipper Junaid Siddique and Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored 193 runs in 41.1 overs in the opening stand.
Junaid hit a century making 102 runs off 129 balls hitting 12 fours and one six, Nazmul scored 92 runs off 125 balls featuring 13 fours and one six while Sabbir Rahman added an unbeaten 49 runs off 38 balls with three fours and five six.
Jubair Hossain claimed all the three wickets in the 2nd innings conceding for 92 runs.

Barisal vs Sylhet
Replying to Barisal Division first innings total of 527/9 (declared), Sylhet Division resumed the first innings with overnight score of 363 for 7 and were all out for 400 runs in 155.2 overs.
Overnight batsman Rajin Saleh scored an unbeaten 89 off 167 balls with eight fours and one six while another overnight batsman Sadiqur Rahman added 12 runs.
Sohag Gazi grabbed four wickets for 87 runs in the first innings for Barisal while Mosaddek Hossain and Monir Hossain took two wickets each conceding 36 and 114 runs respectively.
Barisal Division opened the second innings on the fourth day and scored 146 runs for 7 in 56 overs to settle for draw.
Mosaddek Hossain scored the team highest 61 runs off 77 balls with four fours and three sixes while Fazle Mahmud added another notable 47 runs 115 balls, with four fours and one six.
Abu Jayed, Alok Kapali and Rahatul Ferdous took two wickets each for 14, 18 and 45 runs respectively.

Khulna Division, having 455 runs in the first innings, opened the 2nd innings on the fourth day (Tuesday) and scored 248 runs for 5 in 83 overs with Marshall Ayub’s making an unbeaten century.
The day’s centurion Marshall Ayub pairing with Asif Ahmed scored 143 runs in 44.2 overs in the 5th wickets stand.
Marshall Ayub scored 115 runs off 216 balls with 11 fours and one six while Asif Ahmed scored 70 off 139 balls, featuring 11 fours and two sixes.
Mehedi Hasan Miraz took two wickets for 76 runs while Al-Amin Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman and Abdur Razzak took one wicket each for 14, 27 and 87 runs respectively.
