Dhaka Division scored a comfortable 283 for 5 in 79 overs against Barisal Division in the first innings on the first day of the 3rd round of the four-day first class Tier-1 match of the National Cricket League at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium Academy Ground, Cox’s Bazar on Saturday
Dhaka Division batted first after winning the toss and scored a moderate total riding on 176-run opening partnership by Abdul Mazid and Rony Talukdar.
Abdul Mazid scored 96 runs off 143 balls featuring 10 fours and one six while Rony Talukdar contributed 84 runs off 110 balls hitting seven boundaries and four over boundaries.
Monir Hossain grabbed four wickets for 80 runs for Barisal Division.
In the day’s another Tier-1 match at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar, Khulna Division batted first after winning the toss and scored 156 runs for 5 in 64 overs against Dhaka Metropolis in the first innings on the first day of the four-day affairs on Saturday.
National colored Nurul Hasan partnering with all rounder Ziaur Rahman scored 89 runs off 26.3 overs in the 6th wicket stand.
Nurul Hasan hammered an unconquered 54 runs off 66 balls featuring two sixes and one four while Ziaur Rahman scored an unbeaten 39 runs off 96 balls with two boundaries and one over boundaries.
Besides, opener Anamul Haque (19), Tushar Imran (15) and Mosaddek Iftekhar (15) were the other notable scorers for Khulna Division.
Shahidul Islam and Shykat Ali bagged two wickets each conceding 23 and 25 runs respectively for Dhaka Metropolis
