Bangladesh has strongly denounced the closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, banning of Friday prayer there and imposition of other restrictions around Al Haram Al Sharif by the Israeli authorities.
Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali in a message conveyed the Bangladesh government’s reaction to his Palestinian counterpart and expressed deep condolences and sympathies for the victims of the most recent untoward incident there, according to a foreign ministry release issued on Tuesday.
At least five Palestinians were killed and hundreds injured in clashes sparked by the new security measures by Israeli authorities centering this third holiest site in Islam, located in the Old City of Jerusalem.
